The central government has appointed Sanjay Kallapur and R Narayanaswamy as part-time members of India's independent accounting regulator, the National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA). The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) notification said that "in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (6) of rule 4 of the National Financial Reporting Authority Rules, 2018, the Central Government appoints Sanjay Kallapur and R Narayanaswami as 3. Appointed as part-time member of the National Financial Reporting Authority for a period of one year. Sanjay Kallapur is Professor of Accounting at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He also served on the Board of IDBI Bank He previously served on the board of Life Insurance Corporation of India. Kallapur was an International Council Member of the American Accounting Association from 2018 to 2021. He is a member of the Corporate Reporting Consortium of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
