Indigenous Air Traffic Management Automation System (ATMAS) inaugurated at Biju Patnaik Airport, Odisha
National
Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) adopted indigenously developed Advanced Air Traffic Management Automation System (ATMAS) which provides better safety and efficiency in flight operations. In collaboration with Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), ATMAS will support controllers with conflict prediction and warning alerts as well as decision-making tools to ensure safe and efficient air traffic control at BPIA . The newly constructed Air Traffic Services Complex at BPIA Modern Automation System, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, was inaugurated. BEL CMD Bhanu Prakash Srivastava was also present at the inauguration. An MoU for joint development of indigenous ATMAS was signed between AAI and BEL during WINGS India-2022 in Hyderabad last year.
