The 61st Raising Day of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) was commemorated on 24 October 2022. ITBP Force was established on 24 October, 1962. The ITBP is a specialised armed police force of the country which trains its personnel in many disciplines, including mountaineering and skiing and intensive tactical training. It guards the 3,488 km long India-China border that ranges from the Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh. The ITBP also conducts rescue and relief operations for natural calamities in the Himalayan region.
