Professor Bina Agarwal of the University of Manchester, India, won the Kenneth Boulding Prize in Ecological Economics with David Barkin at Columbia.

Development economist Bina Agrawal has won the prestigious Kenneth Boulding Prize for Ecological Economics. Agarwal, Professor of Development Economics and Environment at the Global Development Institute, University of Manchester, and former Director of the Institute of Economic Growth (Delhi), was jointly awarded the prize with Professor David Barkin, Metropolitan University in Mexico City. The International Society for Ecological Economics said Agrawal was recognized for his significant contributions to ecological economics with a focus on environmental governance, agricultural transformation and social equity in developing countries.
