A pioneer initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in partnership with National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) and Odisha Urban Academy, “Water for Women, Water for Women” campaign concluded with resounding success on its third day The campaign ran for three days and saw the participation of over 14,000 women from different parts of the country who actively participated in “Jal Diwali”. During the campaign, these empowered women visited approximately 500 water treatment plants (WTP) across the country and gained invaluable first-hand knowledge of the complex processes involved in delivering clean and safe drinking water to households. Women among the focus areas of “Jal Diwali” include introducing and educating women about AMRUT Yojana and its wider impact, providing extensive exposure to water treatment plants and souvenirs prepared by women Self Help Groups (SHGs).
