The State Educational Achievement Survey 2023 was successfully conducted with 80 lakh students from 3 lakh schools in 5917 blocks across the country participating in the survey.

State Educational Achievement Survey was conducted by PARAKH to understand the baseline performance in development of competencies at the end of foundational, elementary and middle stages. A significant achievement in the assessment of academic competencies among students of Grades 3, 6 and 9 at the block level in India. This comprehensive survey covered approximately 80 lakh students from 3 lakh schools in 5917 blocks across the country. This also includes 6 lakh teachers and more than 3 lakh regional investigators. The primary objective of this survey is to assess the learning proficiency of students at the end of each educational stage, i.e. Basic, Elementary and Middle, with primary focus on language and mathematics. Except Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal, all other states and union territories participated in the implementation of the survey. One of the notable features of the State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS) 2023 conducted by PARAKH is the focus on learning at the block level. The sample size was expanded to understand the gap, which was a strategic shift from the district.
