World Television Day is celebrated globally on 21 November to highlight the important role of visual media and its growing influence on decision making.
Important Days
Television is an integral part of every Indian home. This device serves as a source of information, entertainment and infotainment for everyone. Television is the centerpiece of every family, whether children watch cartoons and shows tailored to their age group or elders watch news and movies. Although television has undergone a lot of development and innovation since its inception, it is still relevant even in the modern era. Due to changes in society, the types of shows, the way audiences watch, and the way information is presented has changed dramatically. Over the years, television has beautifully adapted to our changing lifestyle and has remained relevant. Every year on 21st November we celebrate World Television Day across the world. Philo Taylor Farnsworth was an American inventor who created the first electric television in 1927. November 21 was declared World Television Day by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 1996. The first World Television Forum was held in 1996.
