The world's first portable hospital, 'Arogya Maitri Aid Cube' was unveiled in Gurugram on 2 December 2023. Indigenously designed under Project 'Bheeshma', the modular trauma management and support system is made up of 72 detachable mini-cubes, each with a specialized station for emergency response and humanitarian efforts. It can handle gunshot injuries, burns, head, spinal cord and chest injuries, minor surgeries, fractures and major bleeding. It can treat more than 200 patients. These cubes are lightweight and portable, and can be rapidly deployed anywhere from airdrop to ground transportation. Air Vice Marshal Tanmay Roy said the mobile hospital is part of India's message of health for all and helping other countries in times of crisis.
