Indian Navy launches fourth missile cum ammunition barge, LSAM 10 (Yard 78) at M/s Secon Engineering Projects Pvt Ltd, Andhra Pradesh.

Fourth barge of 08 x Missile cum Ammunition Project 'Missile cum Ammunition Barge, LSAM 10 (Yard 78)' built by MSME Shipyard, M/s SECON Engineering Projects Pvt. Ltd. (SEPPL), Visakhapatnam for the Indian Navy was launched off East Godavari, Andhra. State (launch site of M/s SEPPL). The contract for construction of 08 x Missile cum Ammunition Barges was signed between the Ministry of Defense and M/s SECON Engineering Projects Pvt. Ltd., Visakhapatnam on 19 Feb 21. The availability of these barges will accelerate IN's operational commitments by providing transportation, embarkation and disembarkation facilities. These barges are indigenously designed and built under the relevant naval rules and regulation of the Indian Shipping Register (IRS). Model testing of the barge was carried out at Naval Science and Technology Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam during the design phase. These barges are the proud flag bearers of the Make in India initiative of the Government of India.
