Goverment Scheme

Amidst the election activities in five states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big announcement that his government will extend the free grain scheme for 80 crore poor for the next five years from January. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), which was to end on December 31, 2023, will now continue till December 2028. It was merged into the National Food Security Act (NFSA) scheme and extended for one year in December, 2022. The Prime Minister also said that 13.5 crore people have been lifted above the poverty line during the last five years. Modi criticized the Congress in both his election speeches, alleging that the party's priority in gaining power is always through corrupt means. He alleged that the people in power in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh are busy filling their coffers by giving government jobs to the children of their own supporters. “In the (State) Public Service Commission examinations, they kept your children out and kept these seats for themselves. In Chhattisgarh it is said '30 Takka Kakka, Aapka Kaam Pakka (Give 30% to Baghel and your work will be done').
