Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh jointly inaugurate development projects in power and rail sectors

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Bangladesh, H.E. Sheikh Hasina jointly inaugurated three Indian-aided development projects through video conferencing at around 11 am on November 1, 2023. Akhaura-Agartala Cross-Border Rail Link Project with a grant of Rs 392.52 crore given by the Government of India to Bangladesh Has been implemented under assistance. The length of the rail link is 12.24 km with 6.78 km dual gauge rail line in Bangladesh and 5.46 km in Tripura. The Khulna-Mongla Port Rail Line Project is being implemented under the concessional credit facility of the Government of India with a total project cost of US$ 388.92 million. Has been done The project involves construction of approximately 65 kilometers of broad gauge rail route between Mongla Port and the existing rail network at Khulna.
