The Central Government has appointed Atal Dullu as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir from December 1st.

The Central Government has appointed senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Atal Dullu as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir with effect from December 1 this year. Dullu, a 1988 batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, will take charge after the retirement of current Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta later this month after completing 60 years of age. Mehta is also a 1988 batch AGMUT cadre officer and is retiring on November 30. Dulloo has held various posts in Jammu and Kashmir, including Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, before being transferred out of the erstwhile state. He is the senior most officer currently serving in Jammu and Kashmir after Mehta. Dullu was posted on central deputation as Secretary, Border Management Department in his parent cadre on the request of the Home Ministry.
