Rural Marketing Association of India has appointed Puneet Vidyarthi as its President for 2023-25

Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI), the premier body of rural marketers in India, said it has appointed Punit Vidyarthi as its president for 2023-2025, replacing Vishwabaran Chakraborty. The student is head of marketing, business development at construction equipment business CASE New Holland. With 12.2% of the world's population, rural India represents the largest potential market and accounts for 53% of FMCG and 59% of durable goods sales in India. Therefore rural market has become important for the growth of most companies. RMAI has about 150 members including Tata Steel, ITC, HDFC, Kotak Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Pidilite and Heromoto Corp. Over the past decade, sales of branded daily necessities in the country of 1.3 billion people have become increasingly dependent on rural areas – home to more than 800 million people whose purchasing behavior is largely linked to agricultural production.
