The Center appointed Koppu Sadashiva Murthy as Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). He succeeds Nalin Singhal who has been the CMD since July 8, 2019. Only two candidates were interviewed for this post. “It is proposed to induct Koppu Sadashiva Murthy into the post of CMD from the date of his assumption of charge on or after 01.11.2023 till the date of his superannuation i.e. 28.02.2027, or until further orders, whichever is first approved by the Board of Directors. According to ET EnergyWorld, the company received a letter from the Ministry of Heavy Industries informing it of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approval for Murthy's appointment. Currently, Murthy is serving as Executive Director in BHEL. According to reports, Murthy brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of power generation and engineering.
