Two Indian cities, Gwalior and Kozhikode have been included in the list of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in 'Music' and 'Literature' categories respectively.

Two Indian cities, Gwalior and Kozhikode, have been added to the prestigious list of UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). These cities were included among 55 other new cities around the world. 55 cities join UNESCO Creative Cities Network on World Cities Day observed on 31 October. Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior has made it to the 'Music' category, while Kerala's Kozhikode has made it to the list in the 'Literature' category. These cities were honored for their "strong commitment to using culture and creativity as part of their development strategies and demonstrating innovative practices in human-centred urban planning", the world body said in a statement. Bukhara is also included in the UNESCO list among other cities for crafts. and folk art, Casablanca for media arts, Kathmandu for film, Rio de Janeiro for literature, and Ulaanbaatar for crafts and folk art, among other 55 cities. With the inclusion of new 55 cities, the number of UCCNs has now reached 350. ​
