Norway will give $44.7 million to strengthen food security and environmental protection in Uttarakhand. This amount will be valid for 3 years till September, 2026.

Norway will help finance India's 'Hunger Project' and help strengthen women leaders to protect the environment and promote food security in Uttarakhand. An official said the duration of the project will be three years till September 2026 with a budget of ₹44.7 million. The Hunger Project conducts capacity-building training for Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) and associations, which run Van Panchayats (Forest Councils). Focuses on strengthening the rural poor, which in turn will ensure food security and livelihood opportunities for marginalized families. The project will be implemented in 3 districts, 9 blocks, 172 gram panchayats and 145 forest panchayats of Uttarakhand. , which will include 900 EWRs to protect standing forests and nurture their immediate environment which is critical to community livelihoods and food security.
