Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya unveils 5th State Food Security Index on World Food Security Day

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya unveiled the 5th State Food Security Index (SFSI), which evaluates the performance of states and union territories across six different aspects of food security. Launched in 2018-19, SFSI aims to promote healthy competition and inspire positive change in the food security ecosystem across the country, ultimately ensuring provision of safe and nutritious food to all residents. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya acknowledged the achievements of various States and Union Territories and honored the winners based on their rankings for the year 2022-23. Among the larger states, Kerala secured the top ranking, followed by Punjab and Tamil Nadu. Among smaller states, Goa was the leader, followed by Manipur and Sikkim. Apart from this, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh secured first, second and third position.
