Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated the country's first State-of-the-Art Animal Stem Cell BioBank and Laboratory at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) in Hyderabad. This facility is a landmark step for Indian biotechnology and veterinary science, aiming to conserve the genetic material of endangered native livestock and facilitate research into regenerative veterinary medicine. The BioBank will store and manage stem cell lines from various animal species, boosting research on animal health, disease modeling, and drug development, thus supporting the livestock economy and biodiversity conservation efforts.
