India was unanimously re-elected to the Executive Committee of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CCEXEC) for the Asia Region during the 48th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC48), held in Geneva. The Codex Alimentarius is a collection of internationally adopted food standards developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). India's re-election strengthens its voice in global food safety policy and ensures that its concerns, such as standards for Basmati rice and aflatoxin contamination limits in peanuts, are represented on the world stage. India also successfully supported the revised Code of Practice for reducing aflatoxin contamination in peanuts.
