India Clinches Record Ninth Asia Cup Title, Defeating Pakistan in 2025.

India clinched the Asia Cup 2025 for a record-extending ninth time by defeating Pakistan in the finals held at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted by India but was later shifted to UAE, taking place from September 9 to 28, 2025.


      - The 17th edition of the Asia Cup was held across two UAE stadiums: 11 matches were played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and 8 matches at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

      - The tournament featured eight teams, including five full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan – along with three teams (UAE, Oman, Hong Kong) that finished in the top three of the 2024 ACC Men’s Premier Cup.

     

Main Point :-   (i) With this victory, India now has nine Asia Cup titles, comprising seven ODI and two T20I championships, making it the most successful team in the tournament’s history. Sri Lanka follows with six titles, while Pakistan has won two.

      (ii) The winning Indian team earned a prize pool of USD 300,000 (approximately ₹2.6 crore), marking a 50% increase from the prize pool of the 2023 edition.

(iii) The 2025 victory reinforces India’s dominance in Asian cricket and highlights its consistent performance across formats, maintaining its position as the leading team in the Asia Cup’s 17-edition history.
