3rd Edition of ‘Unmesha: International Literature Festival’ Held in Patna, Bihar.

The 3rd edition of the “Unmesha: International Literature Festival” was organized by the Sahitya Akademi in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Government of Bihar. The event took place at the Samrat Ashok Convention Centre, Patna, from September 25 to 28, 2025.
- The festival was inaugurated on September 25, 2025, by the Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammed Khan, marking the beginning of one of India’s largest literary gatherings.
- The event brought together over 550 writers, poets, scholars, translators, publishers, and eminent personalities from 16 countries, representing regions such as Africa, East Asia, Europe, and South Asia, and covering more than 100 languages.
Main Point :- (i) Across its four days, the festival hosted 90 diverse sessions, including panel discussions, author readings, workshops, and cultural performances, offering a rich platform for literary exchange and dialogue.
(ii) The “Unmesha” festival strengthened India’s position as a hub for global literary collaboration, encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and promoting literature’s role in uniting diverse traditions and voices.
