PM Narendra Modi Launches ₹60,000 Crore Development Projects from Jharsuguda.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹60,000 crore from Jharsuguda, Odisha. These projects cover telecom, railways, healthcare, higher education, rural housing, and industrial development. On this occasion, the PM also flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur in Odisha and Udhna in Surat, Gujarat.

      - The projects were launched in the presence of Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil.

      - The Amrit Bharat Express is a major connectivity initiative linking Odisha with Gujarat and other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra.

      - A landmark announcement was the launch of over 97,500 new BSNL 4G towers, including 92,600 using fully indigenous technology, at a cost of ₹37,000 crore. This achievement positions India among the few nations capable of building its own telecom networks and will bring high-speed connectivity to 30,000 villages.

Main Point :-   (i) The Prime Minister announced major healthcare upgrades, including transforming MKCG Medical College in Berhampur and VIMSAR in Burla-Sambalpur into world-class super-speciality hospitals.

      (ii) PM Modi said two semiconductor units have recently been approved in Odisha, with plans for a semiconductor park, making the state a tech hub. He added that the double-engine government is driving Odisha’s rapid development.

(iii) The Prime Minister emphasized tax reforms, noting that since the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in 2017, the burden on citizens has reduced significantly. He assured that India will soon emerge as a global hub of telecom technology, driven by BSNL’s indigenous innovations and digital inclusion initiatives.
