In September 2025, UK Prime Minister (PM) Keir Starmer was honoured with the "Living Bridge Award" by the India Business Group (IBG) for his pivotal role in strengthening India-UK relations, particularly by advancing the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The award ceremony was held at the House of Lords, London, UK.


      - The Living Bridge Awards 2025, marking their fourth edition, were received on behalf of PM Keir Starmer by Seema Malhotra, Minister for the Indo-Pacific in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

      - The awards are presented annually by IBG to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to enhancing India-UK ties, including trade, investment, education, business, cultural, and social domains.

      - The Living Bridge Awards serve as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate those acting as bridges between India and the UK, facilitating closer bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

Main Point :-   (i) Alongside PM Keir Starmer, other 2025 honourees include Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao (GMR) Group for infrastructure and business impact, G.P. Hinduja, Chairperson of the Hinduja Group, Bina Mehta, Chair of Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) UK, and the University of Southampton for fostering academic and cultural exchanges.

      (ii) The recognition highlights the continued emphasis on bilateral engagement, trade promotion, and collaborative initiatives between India and the UK, reinforcing long-term strategic and cultural partnerships.
