International Energy Agency: Major changes will be seen in the world energy system by 2030

New Delhi The International Energy Agency (IEA)'s latest World Energy Outlook 2023 indicates a significant shift in the global energy system by the end of this decade. Solar, wind, electric cars and heat pumps are among the clean energy technologies that are projected to redefine the way electricity is generated and used globally. Based on current policies of governments around the world, the IEA report states that by 2030, the world could see nearly 10 times more electric cars on the roads, with solar PV generating more electricity than the US power system currently produces. , and renewable energy is gaining almost 50% of the global electricity mix, a jump from about 30% today.
