5th Edition of Lok Samvardhan Parv Concludes in Kochi, Kerala under PM-VIKAS Framework.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), Government of India (GoI), successfully concluded the 5th edition of Lok Samvardhan Parv, held from 26th August to 4th September 2025 at the Marine Drive Exhibition Area in Kochi, Kerala, under the framework of Pradhan Mantri Virasat ka Samvardhan (PM-VIKAS).
- The Lok Samvardhan Parv is a flagship initiative of MoMA, designed to provide minority community artisans, weavers, culinary experts, and entrepreneurs with a structured platform for market linkages, national exposure, and showcasing traditional crafts.
- The event was inaugurated on August 27, 2025, by George Kurian, Union Minister of State (MoS), MoMA and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MoFAH&D).
- The 10-day exhibition featured 100 stalls from artisans representing 25 States/Union Territories (UTs), with displays of crafts including Blue Pottery (Rajasthan), Channapatna Toys (Karnataka), Nettippattam (Kerala), Banarasi Zari and Chikankari (Uttar Pradesh), Phulkari (Punjab), Bastar Iron Craft (Chhattisgarh), and Madhubani Paintings (Bihar).
Main Point :- (i) In addition to crafts, the event showcased 14 food stalls from 6 States/UTs—including Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, and Kerala—highlighting regional cuisines and promoting culinary diversity.
(ii) Participation included 49 women artisans, 50 men artisans, and 1 transgender artisan, along with 8 women and 6 men culinary experts. The event recorded a footfall of over 46,000 visitors, reflecting strong public engagement.
(iii) The previous edition of Lok Samvardhan Parv was held at Convocation Ground, Kashmir University, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), from April 5 to April 13, 2025, continuing its tradition of rotating venues across India.
