World Coconut Day 2025 Observed on September 2.

Important Days

World Coconut Day 2025 was observed globally on September 2, 2025, to recognize the role of coconuts in agriculture, nutrition, and economic development. The day was marked with the theme “Uncovering Coconut's Power, Inspiring Global Action” and highlighted initiatives to support coconut farmers worldwide.

      - The origins of World Coconut Day are linked to the Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC), an intergovernmental body formed to represent coconut-producing nations. The first observance took place in 2009, making 2025 the 17th celebration of this day.

      - The significance of September 2 lies in it being the foundation day of the International Coconut Community (ICC), an intergovernmental organization established in 1969 under the aegis of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). This historic linkage makes the day a symbol of international cooperation among coconut-growing countries.
