29th BWF World Championships 2025 Concluded in Paris with Historic Wins and India Securing Bronze.

The 29th edition of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships 2025, officially called the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025, was held from 25th to 31st August 2025 at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France. The tournament featured 383 players from 53 countries and marked Paris hosting the event for the first time since 2010.
- China’s SHI Yu Qi emerged as the new Men’s Singles World Champion by defeating defending champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand. This was SHI Yu Qi’s first-ever World Championship title, making him one of the prominent faces of the tournament.
- In Women’s Singles, Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi continued her dominance by winning her third BWF World Championship crown, defeating China’s Olympic champion CHEN Yu Fei. With this victory, Yamaguchi became one of the most successful shuttlers in the women’s singles category.
- India celebrated a proud moment as Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty clinched a bronze medal in Men’s Doubles, showcasing consistent excellence on the world stage. This added another milestone in India’s growing badminton success at global championships.
Main Point :- (i) The Men’s Doubles title was claimed by Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae of South Korea, who defeated China’s pair Chen Bo Yang and Liu Yi to secure their maiden championship win.
(ii) Similarly, the Women’s Doubles was won by Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning of China, who earned their first-ever crown by overcoming Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan.
(iii) In Mixed Doubles, Malaysia made history as the duo Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei triumphed over China’s Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin, marking a remarkable victory and cementing Malaysia’s place in world badminton with their first Mixed Doubles World Championship title.
