  • - The Indian Army has sent a contingent from the Madras Regiment to participate in the exercise. From the USA, the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment “Bobcats” of the Arctic Wolves Brigade Combat Team, part of the 11th Airborne Division, has joined the training.
  • - Yudh Abhyas, first initiated in 2004, is an annual bilateral military exercise conducted alternately in India and the USA.
  • - It is held under the framework of Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, emphasizing counter-terrorism, peacekeeping, and humanitarian operations.

  • (i) The last edition of Yudh Abhyas took place at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan, India. This year’s edition in Alaska focuses on adapting to cold-weather combat, mountainous warfare, and high-altitude operations with advanced tactical integration.
  • (ii) The exercise features diverse drills including helicopter operations, the use of surveillance drones, medical evacuation systems, rock climbing, and the deployment of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, enabling both armies to improve operational interoperability.
