AISATS Becomes India’s First Ground Handling Company to Receive DGCA Safety Clearance.

On September 2, 2025, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) granted safety clearance to Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS), a joint venture between Air India Limited and SATS Limited. With this approval, AISATS has become the first ground handling company in India to receive such recognition.
- AISATS has received India’s first-ever ground handling safety clearance approval from DGCA, marking a milestone for compliance and safety standards in airport operations. The approval highlights India’s growing emphasis on aligning domestic aviation services with global benchmarks.
- The safety clearance certifies AISATS’ compliance with DGCA’s requirements covering ground handling operations, equipment use, staff training, operational processes, and adherence to international safety standards, ensuring safer and more efficient services at Indian airports.
- This achievement positions India as the second country in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region after Malaysia to establish such an extensive safety framework in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidance, strengthening India’s aviation profile globally.
Main Point :- (i) AISATS, established in 2008, provides end-to-end ground handling and cargo management solutions, including passenger check-in, baggage handling, aircraft loading and unloading, ramp services, cargo operations, and aircraft cleaning across major Indian airports.
(ii) By securing this approval, AISATS not only sets a benchmark for Indian aviation services but also enhances India’s role as a regional pioneer in ground handling safety standards, supporting the country’s ambition to become a global aviation hub.
