Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma launched a multi-purpose online portal of the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA), 2016. Its aim to ensure the safety and security of the residents, gathering intelligence inputs and to better the process of delivery of numerous government services. The digitisation process would connect more than 6,000 villages and localities across Meghalaya to the online system. The implementation of Act will prevent anti-social elements from gaining shelter in the state and to create a control mechanism to check illegal infiltration or illegal migrants who might be coming and residing in the localities.
