Indian Railways Launches “RailOne” Super App to Unify Passenger Services.

On July 1, 2025, the Indian Railways, in collaboration with CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems), launched RailOne, a unified mobile app integrating all key passenger services under one platform. The app was unveiled by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during CRIS’s 40th Foundation Day celebrations in New Delhi.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The RailOne Super App consolidates nine essential services including IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) ticketing, UTS (Unreserved Ticketing System), and NTES (National Train Enquiry System) into one seamless platform. Passengers can now book reserved and unreserved tickets, platform tickets, and season passes from a single interface.
  • - This app includes advanced features such as real-time PNR (Passenger Name Record) status updates, coach position locator, and live train tracking, enhancing passenger convenience and journey planning accuracy. These features eliminate the need to switch between multiple apps for tracking train-related updates.
  • - Food ordering is integrated via IRCTC e-catering, enabling travelers to book meals from approved vendors and receive them directly at their seats. Additionally, a simplified refund process with clear tracking improves user satisfaction and response time for failed transactions or cancellations.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) RailOne also provides biometric login and mPIN (Mobile Personal Identification Number) security through R-Wallet, supports multilingual access, and includes a built-in grievance redressal module through Rail Madad (Railway Mobile Application for Direct Aid & Assistance During Distress). It also supports Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality across IRCTC and UTS.
  • (ii) By merging multiple platforms—IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS Mobile App, NTES, Rail Madad, and e-Catering—into one app, RailOne aligns with the Digital India initiative to improve service delivery and digital integration in public transport. It significantly reduces digital clutter for passengers.
  • (iii) During the launch, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw called RailOne a “revolutionary step” in public service modernization. He noted it as a key milestone in CRIS’s journey toward transforming Indian Railways into a world-class, digitally empowered transport system committed to efficiency, convenience, and transparency.
