DRDO Hands Over Technologies of Nine Defence Systems to 10 Indian Industries.

In June 2025, Ahilyanagar (Maharashtra)-based Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), a laboratory under the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), transferred technologies of nine defence systems to ten industries.


      - This move marks a significant step towards building a strong defence industrial ecosystem through the collaboration of both public and private sectors.

      - The transferred technologies include the CBRN Reconnaissance Vehicle (Tracked) Mk-II for monitoring chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats; Mounted Gun System (MGS) for mobile firepower; Anti-Terrorist Vehicle (ATV) – Tracked Version for counter-terror operations; and the Full Trailer of 70t Tank Transporter designed to carry MBT Arjun Mk-1A tanks efficiently.

      - Additional systems include the Expandable Mobile Shelter for modular field deployments; Vajra – Riot Control Vehicle for law enforcement; Unit Maintenance Vehicle (UMV) and Unit Repair Vehicle (URV) for servicing and repairing MBT Arjun tanks in the field; and the Multi-Purpose Decontamination System (MPDS) for effective decontamination in CBRN-affected environments.

Main Point :-   (i) The licensing agreements were formally handed over during an event at VRDE, in the presence of Dr. Samir V Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D), and Chairman, DRDO.

      (ii) QuBeats, a Hyderabad (Telangana)-based Indian Quantum deeptech company, won the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) ADITI 2.0 Defence Challenge for developing an indigenous Quantum Positioning System (QPS) for the Indian Navy (IN). The award includes a grant of ₹25 crore (USD 3 million) to support the development of next-generation high-precision quantum sensors.
