The 13th edition of Norway Chess 2025, a renowned international tournament, was held in Stavanger, Norway, from May 26 to June 6, 2025. It featured both the Open and the 2nd Norway Chess Women’s Tournament, showcasing top global chess talents.


      - Five-time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen (Norway) secured his 7th Norway Chess title by finishing first in the Open category with 16 points, demonstrating his continued dominance in classical chess.

      - Fabiano Caruana (USA) secured second place with 15.5 points, while India's Dommaraju Gukesh claimed third place with 14.5 points, marking an impressive performance in this high-stakes event.

      - Ukraine’s Anna Muzychuk, a two-time World Blitz Chess Champion, emerged victorious in the 2nd Norway Chess Women’s Tournament with 16.5 points, showcasing her exceptional skills and consistency.

Main Point :-   (i) In a dramatic finish, Muzychuk drew her final classical game against Indian GM R Vaishali but retained her lead due to an Armageddon tie-break. Lei Tingjie (China) finished second with 16 points, followed by Koneru Humpy (India) with 15 points.

      (ii) Arjun Erigaisi (India) ended in 5th place with 13 points in the Open category, while Vaishali Rameshbabu secured the 5th position in the Women’s section, underlining India’s growing presence in the global chess arena.
