In June 2025, the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government, through its Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR), a key facility of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

      - The MoU was formalized in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, SHAR Director A. Rajarajan, and RTGS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Prakhar Jain.

      - This strategic partnership aims to enhance the AWARE (Andhra Pradesh Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Research Centre) platform under RTGS by integrating advanced satellite imagery and scientific inputs, thereby strengthening the state's early warning and disaster response capabilities.

Main Point :-   (i) To enable real-time, citizen-centric governance in Andhra Pradesh using space-based tools, with satellite data applied across 42 key sectors including agriculture, disaster management, weather forecasting, urban planning, and public safety.

(ii) AWARE is a tech-driven platform that integrates data from satellites, drones, IoT devices, environmental sensors, mobile feeds, and CCTV networks to provide a unified view for monitoring and governance.

(iii) The platform sends real-time alerts and advisories via SMS, WhatsApp, mainstream and social media, aiming to enhance disaster preparedness, decision-making, and public service delivery by leveraging ISRO’s satellite data.
