Election Commission of India Launches New Feature in ECINET Application.

National

On June 4, 2025, the Election Commission of India (ECI) launched a new technology-driven system to provide real-time updates on approximate Voter Turnout (VTR) trends, aiming to reduce delays linked with the earlier manual reporting process.

      - This initiative supports ECI’s commitment to timely and transparent public communication, which remains its highest priority.

Main Point :-   (i) ECINET is a unified digital platform developed by ECI that integrates and consolidates over 40 existing applications — including the Voter Helpline, CVIGIL (Vigilant Citizen) app, and Suvidha 2.0 — into a single, user-friendly interface.

(ii) It is designed to streamline access to electoral services for voters, election officials, political parties, and civil society organizations.

(iii) Under the new system, every Presiding Officer (PRO) at polling stations will input voter turnout data into the Election Commission Network and Information Technology (ECINET) app every 2 hours on polling day.
