President Droupadi Murmu Conferred 92 Distinguished Service Awards to Indian Armed Forces Personnel.

On 4 June 2025, President of India Droupadi Murmu presented 92 distinguished service decorations to serving and retired personnel of the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Coast Guard (ICG), and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2025 (Phase-II) held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
- These awards were presented in recognition of exceptional service across operational, strategic, and humanitarian domains, celebrating exemplary dedication, leadership, and contribution to national defence and security.
- The honours included a total of 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals (PVSM), 5 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals (UYSM), and 57 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSM), showcasing the nation’s gratitude toward personnel from different branches of service.
- Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Commander of the Western Command, and Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, Commander of the Southern Command, were both conferred the prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) for their distinguished leadership.
Main Point :- (i) Among the notable awardees, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army and a key figure in briefings during Operation Sindoor, received the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM).
(ii) Lt Gen Bhavish Kumar, who served as the Parade Commander during the 2025 Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, was honoured with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) for his leadership role in ceremonial duties.
(iii) Other PVSM awardees included Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana, who recently assumed command as Commander-in-Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) on 1 June 2025, and Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, the newly appointed Vice Chief of the Air Staff, recognized for over 3,600 hours of flying experience and exemplary service.
