Adani Airports Raised USD 750 Million via ECB to Expand Airport Infrastructure.

In June 2025, Ahmedabad (Gujarat)-based Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) raised USD 750 million (approx. ₹6,250 crore) through External Commercial Borrowings (ECB) from a consortium of international banks.


      - The transaction was led by First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Abu Dhabi (UAE); Barclays PLC, London (UK); and Standard Chartered Bank, London (UK). The loan was secured at an interest rate of approximately 7.5%.

      - AAHL plans to use the funds to refinance its existing USD 400 million debt, upgrade infrastructure, and expand airport capacity.

      - Six airports will benefit from these funds: Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mangaluru (Karnataka), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Guwahati (Assam), and Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala).

Main Point :-   (i) The company also aims to enhance non-aeronautical business operations such as Retail, Food & Beverage (F&B), Duty-Free shops, and other services.

      (ii) AAHL has a long-term goal to triple the passenger handling capacity to 300 million annually by 2040 through phased infrastructure development.

(iii) AAHL, established in 2019, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, the flagship company of the Adani Group.
