Ulaanbaatar Open 2025 Wrestling: India Finishes 2nd with 21 Medals, Host Mongolia Leads the Tally.

The Ulaanbaatar Open 2025 Wrestling competition took place from May 29 to June 1, 2025, at the Buyant-Ukhaa Sports Palace in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This event marked the first-ever United World Wrestling (UWW) Ranking Series tournament and was the third stage of the 2025 UWW Ranking Series.


      - India finished second in the medal standings, winning a total of 21 medals, which included 6 gold, 7 silver, and 8 bronze medals. The host nation, Mongolia, led the medal tally with 29 medals, comprising 7 gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze.

     

     

Main Point :-   (i) The Ulaanbaatar Open 2025 featured over 350 wrestlers from 17 countries competing in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. India was represented by 31 wrestlers, including 11 in men’s freestyle, 10 in Greco-Roman, and 10 in women’s categories.

      (ii) The United World Wrestling (UWW) allocated a total prize fund of 390,000 Swiss Francs (CHF) for the event, awarding 1,500 CHF to gold medalists, 750 CHF to silver medalists, and 500 CHF to bronze medalists.

(iii) The final leg of the 2025 UWW Ranking Series is set to take place in Budapest, Hungary, from July 17 to 20, 2025.
