Deutsche Bank Appoints Stefan Schaffer as CEO of Deutsche Bank India.

In June 2025, Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank AG appointed Stefan Schaffer as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Indian Global Capability Centre (GCC), Deutsche Bank India. He succeeds Dilipkumar Khandelwal, who stepped down after five years to focus on mentoring and scaling early-stage startups.


      - In addition to his role as CEO of Deutsche Bank India, Stefan Schaffer will also serve as the Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Corporate Functions and lead the bank’s Global Technology Centres (GTC).

      - He joined Deutsche Bank AG in 2020 and has held several senior leadership roles within the Technology, Data, and Innovation (TDI) division.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Stefan Schaffer previously served as the Head of the Bucharest Technology Centre and as President of the Board of Directors in Romania.

      (ii) He has also worked as Managing Director (MD) and Head of Shared Applications and Services.

(iii) Deutsche Bank’s India GCC, established in 2005, has a presence in major cities including Mumbai and Pune (Maharashtra), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jaipur (Rajasthan).
