Rajiv Memani, EY India Chairman, Appointed CII President for FY26.

Appointment

In June 2025, Rajiv Memani, Chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young (EY) India, took over as the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the Financial Year 2025–26 (FY26). He succeeded Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and MD of ITC Limited, based in Kolkata, West Bengal.


      - Rajiv Memani is also a member of the EY Global Executive Board and chairs the EY Growth Markets Council (GMC). He is widely recognized as a trusted advisor to Indian companies, private equity firms, and multinational corporations.

      - In the late 1990s, Memani played a key role in establishing EY India's Corporate Finance practice, which is now known as Strategy and Transactions. His leadership helped shape EY’s corporate advisory capabilities in India.

      - Rajiv Memani earlier served as CII’s President-Designate for FY25 and Vice-President in FY24. He was also part of the Finance Ministry’s taskforce that drafted the Direct Tax Code in 2019.

Main Point :-   (i) R. Mukundan, MD and CEO of Tata Chemicals Limited, has taken charge as the CII President-Designate for FY26. He began his journey with the Tata Administrative Service in 1990 and has held leadership roles across the chemicals, automotive, and hospitality sectors within the Tata Group.

      (ii) Mukundan has a long-standing association with CII. He has previously served as the Chairperson of CII’s Western Region (2013–14) and as Vice-President of CII for FY25, highlighting his extensive experience in industry leadership.

(iii) Dr. Suchitra K. Ella, Co-founder and MD of Bharat Biotech International Limited, has assumed the role of CII Vice-President for FY26. She was instrumental in establishing Bharat Biotech in 1996 and was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to the industry and society.
