In May 2025, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia, Ministry of Communications (MoC) and Ministry of Development of North East Region (MDONER), unveiled ‘Innovate to Transform’ as the theme for the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2025), scheduled to be held from October 08 to 11, 2025, at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi.
- The theme ‘Innovate to Transform’ for IMC 2025 underscores the crucial role of innovation in driving transformative change across multiple domains, including industry, infrastructure, society, and sustainability.
- Union Minister Scindia also launched the revamped ‘Sanchar Mitra Scheme’, a student volunteer-led initiative aimed at empowering India’s Yuva Shakti to serve as informed ambassadors of telecom awareness, cybersecurity, and digital literacy.
Main Point :- (i) During the event, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) under the MoC announced the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards 2024.
(ii) These awards recognize exceptional achievements over the past three years in the fields of telecom innovation, skilling, services, manufacturing, and mobile application development.
