Neeraj Chopra Clinches Silver Medal at 2025 Janusz Kusociński Memorial in Poland.

In May 2025, Neeraj Chopra, India’s two-time Olympic medallist in javelin throw, won the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event at the 71st edition of the Janusz Kusociński Memorial held in Chorzów, Poland.


      - This achievement marked his 22nd consecutive top-two finish in international competitions since June 2021.

      - Neeraj Chopra secured second place with a throw of 84.14 metres on his sixth and final attempt, despite wet and challenging conditions.

     

Main Point :-   (i) Germany’s Julian Weber won the gold medal with a best throw of 86.12 metres, while Anderson Peters from Grenada claimed the bronze with 83.24 metres.

      (ii) The Janusz KusociĹ„ski Memorial is one of Europe’s longest-running annual athletics meets and is classified as a Silver-level event on the World Athletics Continental Tour.
