Indian Army Launches Uttarakhand’s First Community Radio Station ‘Panchshul Pulse’.

In May 2025, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, Indian Army, inaugurated "Panchshul Pulse," the Indian Army's first Community Radio Station (CRS) broadcasting on 88.4 FM in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.


      - Launched under 'Operation Sadbhavana,' this initiative aims to enhance community engagement and promote regional culture.

      - Named after the Panchshul mountain range, the radio station seeks to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army, civil administration, and border communities.

      - Broadcasting from the Army Public School of the Panchshul Brigade, it covers a 12-kilometer radius, reaching remote Himalayan villages.

Main Point :-   (i) The station’s tagline is "Hill Se Dil Tak" (From Hills to Heart).

      (ii) Its programming includes content in local dialects focusing on local history, culture, agriculture, horticulture, awareness about martyrs, soldiers, sportspersons, social workers, weather alerts, disaster management, and government welfare schemes.

(ii) Operation Sadbhavana, launched by the Indian Army in 1998, aims to build goodwill and foster development in remote and border areas through community-centered projects.
