NIBE Limited Bags USD 17.52 Million Export Contract from Israel for Rocket Launchers.

In May 2025, Pune-based defence technology company NIBE Limited (formerly Kavita Fabrics Private Limited) secured a major export order worth USD 17.52 million (approximately Rs 1.5 billion) from a leading technology firm in Israel, with contract execution timeline until November 2027.
- The order involves the manufacturing and supply of Universal Rocket Launchers with a maximum strike range of 300 kilometers, marking the first time such advanced technology is being produced in India for the international market.
- This deal represents a significant milestone for both NIBE Limited and India’s defence manufacturing sector, reinforcing the Government of India’s commitment to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives by showcasing indigenous high-tech weapon capabilities.
Main Point :- (i) The Universal Rocket Launcher stands out as one of the most advanced systems globally, engineered for exceptional long-range accuracy and operational versatility, surpassing many existing international systems. It incorporates cutting-edge technology comparable to Israel’s Elbit Systems' Precise & Universal Launching System (PULS). Additionally, it supports the deployment of various rockets and munitions, with compatibility for advanced loitering munitions such as SkyStriker drones, which offer a strike range of over 100 km, making it highly adaptable for modern combat environments.
(ii) With a strike range of 300 km, these launchers serve as medium-range precision strike weapon systems, suitable for both defensive and offensive military operations in various theatres.
(iii) According to official Government of India data, defence exports reached Rs 23,622 crore in FY 2024-25, showing 12.04% growth over the previous year, while the government aims to achieve Rs 1.75 lakh crore in total defence production by 2025.
