NIT Calicut Collaborates with European Universities by Joining HERITAGE Academic Network.

In May 2025, Kozhikode, Kerala-based National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) joined the HERITAGE Network (Higher Education and Research Innovation Tie-ups for Academic Growth and Excellence), a consortium comprising 30 leading Indian and European technical institutions.


      - The induction took place during the General Assembly of the Indian and European Universities Consortium held at Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) in Dresden, Germany.

      - Led by Director Prof. Prasad Krishna, NITC showcased its commitment to academic excellence and global collaboration during the assembly presentation.

     

Main Point :-   (i) During its European visit, NIT Calicut signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim and Technische Universität (TU) Berlin in Germany to strengthen academic cooperation.

      (ii) The MoUs aim to facilitate dual-degree postgraduate programmes, undergraduate student exchange, and interdisciplinary research in emerging technologies like semiconductor packaging and advanced electronics.

(iii) NITC also explored a research partnership with the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) in the Netherlands to support India's national missions in advanced electronics and high-tech manufacturing.
