PM Modi Inaugurates Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025, held from May 23 to 25 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. During his address, PM Modi referred to the eight Northeastern states as "Ashta Lakshmi", symbolizing the eight divine forms of wealth and prosperity.


      - Organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), the two-day summit aimed to spotlight the North East as a ‘front-runner of growth’ and a key contributor to India's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

      - The event saw the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across critical sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare, tourism, and information technology, reflecting a strong commitment to accelerating development and investment in the region.

     

Main Point :-   (i) During the summit, Arunachal Pradesh signed MoUs worth ₹6,357 crore with 16 investor companies, while Tripura secured investments of ₹15,646 crore through 33 MoUs, showcasing strong investor confidence in the region.

      (ii) Leading industrial giants—Reliance Industries, Adani Group, and Vedanta Group—collectively pledged investments totaling ₹1.55 trillion to boost development across the North Eastern Region (NER).

(iii) Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted that the summit attracted investment proposals worth ₹4.3 lakh crore, positioning the NER as a rising economic powerhouse within India’s growth journey.
