In May 2025, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), Government of India (GoI), partnered with the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO), based in Denmark, under the Support for Commercialisation of Intellectual Property (MSME-SCIP) programme.

      - This collaboration aims to streamline the acquisition and commercialization of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for Indian MSMEs, thereby enhancing innovation capacity and boosting global competitiveness.

Main Point :-   (i) The partnership will support MSMEs in acquiring patents, trademarks, and technology licenses, addressing long-standing challenges related to technology transfer and IP protection that have historically hindered innovation for smaller enterprises.

(ii) Through its Intellectual Property Facilitation Centres (IPFCs), the Ministry will work with DKPTO to process applications for technology transfer under the IPR framework, and assist MSMEs in obtaining trademarks and patents (licensing).

(iii) Financial Assistance: The Ministry will cover 70% of registration and acquisition costs, with an aim to register 2,500 innovations during the financial year 2025–26.
