Uttar Pradesh Unveils India’s First Vistadome Jungle Safari Train Experience.

In May 2025, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government, in collaboration with Indian Railways (IR), launched India’s first Vistadome Jungle Safari Train, marking a significant step in enhancing eco-tourism infrastructure in the state.
- The newly introduced service connects the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Bahraich district with the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Pilibhit district, covering a scenic 107-kilometre (km) forest route.
- The train operates under the name Bichia-Mailani Tourist Passenger, halting at nine stations across UP: Bichia, Manjhara Purab, Khairatiya Bandh Road, Tikunia, Belrayan, Dudhwa, Palia Kalan, Bhira Kheri, and Mailani.
Main Point :- (i) The journey spans approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes, with ticket prices at Rs. 275 per person, ensuring affordability for a wide range of tourists.
(ii) The Vistadome coaches are specially designed with panoramic windows, transparent glass roofs, and rotating seats, offering immersive views of wetlands, grasslands, and wildlife.
(iii) This initiative is a part of UP’s broader 'One Destination, Three Forests' strategy, aimed at integrating Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary into a seamless and enriched tourism experience.
