MP Cabinet Approves 'Rah-Veer' Scheme and ₹2100 Crore Adi Shankaracharya Project.

In May 2025, the Madhya Pradesh (MP) Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approved the 'Rah-Veer' Scheme along with a ₹2100 crore project aimed at promoting religious and cultural traditions around the Adi Shankaracharya statue. The announcement was made during a special event held at Rajwada Palace in Indore, MP.


      - This cabinet meeting was organized to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary year of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a revered queen known for her contributions to Indian culture and temple restoration.

      - The Madhya Pradesh (MP) Cabinet has revised the reward for good Samaritans under the 'Rah-Veer' scheme. Individuals who assist road accident victims by transporting them to hospitals or Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will now receive ₹25,000, up from the earlier ₹5,000. The scheme is designed to encourage people to act swiftly during emergencies and help save lives.

      - A comprehensive ₹2100 crore project has been approved to promote religious and cultural heritage around the Adi Shankaracharya statue in Omkareshwar, MP. The project includes the development of hostels for research scholars, a library, and other facilities to enhance spiritual and academic engagement at the site.

Main Point :-   (i) To provide secure accommodation for working women, the cabinet approved the construction of hostels in industrial areas. These will be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions from industrialists, with a total allocation of ₹249.66 crore.

      (ii) The MP Cabinet approved the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Training Scheme to provide youth with skill-based training and an annual interest subsidy of ₹1,000, capped at ₹10,000 per person. The scheme will cost ₹100 crore annually. It also cleared development projects worth ₹3,687 crore, including ₹773.07 crore for Maharaja Veshwantrao Hospital (Indore) and ₹321.94 crore for Shyam Shah Medical College (Rewa).

(iii) The announcements were made in honor of the 300th birth anniversary year of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, celebrated at Rajwada Palace, Indore. Ahilyabai Holkar, the Holkar Queen of the Maratha Malwa Kingdom, is remembered as a visionary female ruler who promoted temple construction, cultural heritage, and early industrial initiatives in 18th-century India.
