In May 2025, recent data from UK-based energy cargo tracker Vortexa revealed that the United States of America (USA) overtook the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in April 2025, becoming India’s fourth-largest crude oil supplier.

      - India’s crude oil imports from the USA doubled to 0.33 million barrels per day (mbd) in April 2025, compared to 0.17 mbd in April 2024 and 0.24 mbd in March 2025.

      - India accounted for 8% of total USA crude exports in April 2025, underlining its rising importance as a key energy buyer.
